For Natalya, the problem wasn't summer. It was the choice summer kept asking her to make.

She has lived with flat feet her entire life. Like many people who do, she learned early on that the right insole isn't a small thing — it's the difference between walking through a day and ending it in pain. For most of the year she could manage. Closed shoes accepted her custom insoles without complaint, and life went on.

Then she moved to Barcelona.

In a city where the sun stays late and sandals are part of how you live, the compromise she had quietly been making for years suddenly became impossible to ignore. Every summer she stood in front of the same two options. The beautiful sandals — the ones she actually wanted to wear — left her with aching knees and a sore back by the end of the day. And the orthopedic ones, the ones that respected her feet, looked like they belonged in a clinic, not on a terrace in Gràcia.

She tried slipping her custom insoles into stylish sandals. They didn't fit. She tried suffering through summer in unsupportive ones. Her body refused. She tried wearing closed shoes in 34-degree heat. That worked even less.

For years she carried two pairs of shoes in her bag. One for how she wanted to look. One for how she needed to feel. It was the kind of small daily frustration that, over time, becomes something larger — a quiet reminder that the market had simply never been built with her in mind.

So she stopped waiting for it to be.

She joined forces with her friend and co-founder Loubna, and together they set out to build the thing they had both been looking for: a sandal designed from the very first stitch around a personalized insole. Not added afterward. Not a compromise between two worlds. The two worlds, finally, in one pair.

That's how INSOLANCE was born.

We started with one belief: no one should have to choose between feeling good and looking good. Your feet hold you up through every day of your life — they deserve more thought than a standard size and a generic shape can offer.
