Custom insoles

Custom insoles

A custom insole is designed from the imprint of your own foot, so that support, cushioning and pressure relief sit where your foot needs them. It doesn't change the shape of your foot, treat a condition or replace clinical care, but it is designed to make a long day on your feet feel less tiring.

Why do feet feel tired when support doesn't match the foot?

Every step you take, your foot absorbs the impact of your body weight, thousands of times a day, often in shoes that offer almost no real support in return. When the structure under your foot doesn't match the way your foot lands, certain areas carry more than their share: the arch, the heel, the forefoot. Over an hour you barely notice. Over a full day it builds, and by evening you feel that familiar heaviness and low ache. That's your body compensating, step after step, for a load that was never properly shared.

What do custom insoles do?

A personalized insole distributes your body weight more evenly. It supports the arch at the height that suits your foot, cushions the heel with the right amount of absorption, and eases pressure at the forefoot, where it tends to concentrate. The aim is to let your foot move the way it moves naturally, without asking the rest of your body to make up the difference.

The result isn't dramatic. It's quieter than that: the end of the day simply feels less heavy than it used to.

What don't custom insoles do?
  • They don't change the shape of your foot.
  • They don't cure anything, strengthen your muscles, or undo years of wearing the wrong shoes. Those take time, movement and, in many cases, professional guidance.
  • They won't feel like a revelation on day one. Good support is something you stop noticing you needed. The difference shows up later, in a long day that doesn't leave the same mark.
  • They don't replace clinical care. If your feet are telling you something persistent and specific, listen to them and see a podiatry professional. A personalized sandal is what comes after or alongside an evaluation, for the many days when your feet simply need good support in something you want to wear.
Are custom insoles the same as custom orthotics?

Not as we use the terms. Custom orthotics are generally prescribed by a clinician for a diagnosed foot condition. INSOLANCE insoles are personalized insoles designed for comfort in everyday sandals. They are not designed to diagnose or treat a condition. If you have a specific foot problem, start with a podiatry professional.

How are INSOLANCE custom insoles made?

1. You place the order and receive a Foot Imprint Kit: a foam impression box, a step-by-step guide and a short questionnaire about your feet.

2. You take your imprint at home and answer the questionnaire.

3. Podiatry professionals we collaborate with study your foot imprint, arch profile, pressure distribution, and the heel and forefoot zones where fatigue builds up first.

4. Your insole is designed individually. It is never picked from a pre-made range.

5. The insole is built into your sandal from the very first stitch, so the support, the structure and the sandal are one integrated piece.

Your feet deserve to be understood, not approximated. See the process at insolance.com.

FAQ

Do custom insoles work? They are designed to distribute pressure more evenly across your foot. Results vary from person to person, and the effect is usually subtle: less end-of-day heaviness rather than a dramatic change.

Can custom insoles fix flat feet? No. An insole doesn't change the shape of your foot. It changes how your weight is supported across it.

Are custom insoles the same as orthotics? No. Orthotics are generally prescribed to address a diagnosed condition. INSOLANCE insoles are personalized for comfort in everyday sandals.

Can I put a custom insole into any sandal? At INSOLANCE, the insole is built into the sandal from the start rather than added afterward, so the two work as one piece.

How long do custom insoles take to make? At INSOLANCE, each insole is designed individually and the sandal is then handcrafted around it, so allow about 6 to 8 weeks from the moment we receive your imprint.
